Access Sacramento staff are preparing the documents now that will be revealed on the Access Sacramento website in an official launch of the 15th script competition and Film Festival in the first week of February.

The festival’s first step is a script writing competition with the collection of scripts for 10-minute short films that are focused on the people, places and stories associated with the Sacramento area.

Ten original screenplays will be selected for production during the summer, with the 10 films having their world premiere on the first weekend of October.

Since the festival’s creation in 2000, a total of 139 films have been produced showcasing the good work by Sacramento area screenplay writers, producers, directors and actors.

Access Sacramento organizer Michelle Barbaria encourages those interested in submitting a screenplay to begin putting together their ideas in anticipation of this year’s festival.
