This Sunday’s broadcast of “Media Edge” features a Sacramento presentation in November by best-selling author and on-line columnist Chris Hedges.

The former Foreign Correspondent for the New York Times is now a weekly columnist for Truthdig.com.

His capacity-crowd presentation Nov. 1 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church is Sacramento was recorded by a Media Edge production team and premieres this Sunday.

Media Edge airs at 8 p.m. Sunday on Access Sacramento Comcast and SureWest Cable channel 17 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.  A repeat can be seen Monday, Jan. 13 at Noon.

Hedges was part of the team of reporters at the New York Times awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for the paper’s coverage of global terrorism.  He also received the Amnesty International Global Award for Human Rights Journalism in 2002.

The Los Angeles Press Club honored Hedges’ original columns in Truthdig.com by naming the author the Online Journalist of the Year in 2009 and again in 2011.  The LAPC also granted him the Best Online Column award in 2010 for this Truthdig.com essay “One Day We’ll All Be Terrorists.”
