Ubuntu Green is excited to announce our Summer Garden Workshop Series! These workshops are FREE and open to everyone.
All workshops are from 9:00-11:00am at the Ubuntu Urban Garden, 14th Avenue and 44th Street (behind Home Cash Market). Light refreshments will be provided.

Join Ubuntu Green, Sol Collective, and Soil Born Farms for a workshop designed for those who want to help promote gardening and healthy eating in their community. Participants will leave with a working knowledge of common garden questions, and with information on multiple opportunities to get involved!
Saturday, August 17, 2013: The Fruits of Your Labor: Picking and Preparing Food from Your Garden
Join Rasheed Hislop, certified Just Food Trainer of Trainers, to learn how to pick and prepare food from your garden. This will be a hands-on workshop. This workshop is great for kids!
Saturday, August 31, 2013: Composting 101
Join Randy Stannard from Soil Born Farms for a training on composting. Learn all about creating and maintaining your compost, and how to integrate compost into your garden.
Saturday, September 7, 2013: Know Your Bugs! How to Work with Insects for a Better Garden
Join Kimberly Steinmann, environmental scientist for the state, to learn about pests in your garden, how to attract good bugs that control them, and other natural pest control methods. We’ll finish the workshop with some pest bingo, with the winner receiving a prize. This workshop is great for kids!
