Are you a youth ages 14 to 17?

The GABY board member applications will be available May 17th to July 1st. GABY stands for the grants advisory board for youth. GABY gives Sacramento youth an outlet to create projects that will benefit the community.

The board consists of 20 youth throughout Sacramento and Yolo county.  The Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s created the board in 2002 with a mission to help youth flourish their knowledge of humanitarianism, skills for serving their community, and to provide resources to effectuate youth-led projects.

Some of the roles of a GABY board member are attending bi-weekly meetings, reviewing grants and promoting GABY. Some of the benefits of serving on the board are gaining leadership skills, such as facilitation, decision-making, teamwork, and self-reflection. GABY also teaches its board members how to not only write grants but also review them.
