Despite a 6-1 vote by the Planning Commission to deny a drive-thru across from UCD Obesity Clinic, McDonald’s Corp appeals to City Council in the face of overwhelming opposition from residents and UCD Medical Center staff.
WHAT: An Oak Park Neighborhood Group, Healthy Development for Oak Park (HDOP), plans to stop a proposed fast food drive-thru by demonstrating the planned McDonald’s violates appropriate land use principles, is inconsistent with neighborhood design, and threatens the health and safety of residents. The McDonald’s Corp is appealing the Planning Commission’s 6-1 vote to reject the drive thru and the City Council is expected to make a final vote at Tuesday’s hearing.
