The Sacramento City Animal Shelter is experiencing an unexplainable surge in its population of stray or surrendered dogs and cats and is desperate to find them all new homes before it’s too late. Between now and February 14th, you can take a new pet home and only pay what ever you can afford as part of their “Name Your Price” adoption event. All the animals are already vaccinated, microchipped, licensed, and altered to prevent reproduction.

If you already have a dog or cat and want to do your part to help control the pet population, the Sacramento Area Animal Coalition is now taking applications to help those who need a little help receive discounted spay or neutering services. You must make less than $35,000 a year or already receive some sort of public assistance to qualify for one of the 500 available open slots. Altering will run $15 per cat or $20 per dog during the SAAC event.
