The nation’s largest home improvement retail chain, The Home Depot, is planning on hiring 1,000 seasonal employees in Sacramento over the next few weeks, according to reports. The move comes as the company prepares for the retailer’s busiest part of the year; springtime.
Across the country, The Home Depot is expecting to add 70,000 seasonal employees to its payrolls. Last year, the company retained nearly 50% of the temporary workers it hired in the spring. Despite the tough retail and housing markets, The Home Depot increased its revenues by nearly 4% last year.
Locally, The Home Depot operates 14 stores in the Sacramento region.
