“Celebrate Oatmeal Muffin Day!”

You may not be a ‘Holiday’ person. You may have thought that you were limited by traditional, religious, or popular Holidays like Christmas, Chanukah, Yule, Kwanzaa, or Ramadan, but there is so much more to choose from.

If you’re reading this article on Monday, December 19th your right on the midst of Oatmeal Muffin Day! According to the website HolidayInsights.com, which documents registered holidays, there are so many holidays that some of them are double up on the same day. Such is the case with December 21st, National Flashlight Day which is also Look On the Bright Side Day. You can celebrate both those days together, too. Flashlights provide the light you can use to look on the bright side. Aim it wherever you like to make whatever you wish a little brighter.

If you like Holidays, but don’t  find any of the above holidays appealing, try Festivus. the once fictional holiday created on The Jerry Seinfeld Show is officially registered as a Holiday. You can celebrate however you like, but I believe food is traditionally of high importance on this celebratory day on December 23rd.

Who needs Christmas Eve on December 24th when you have National Chocolate Day! Bake or buy a chocolate cake, visit a chocolatier, or even take a bath in chocolate. Yum!

Still Hungry? December 25th is National Pumpkin Pie Day. I wouldn’t recommend a pumpkin pie bath, but a slice or sampling of various pies might be nice.

If you hate family gatherings or it’s not your thing, but you enjoy getting together with friends, you might like Card Playing Day on December 28th. Get a Poker game together and hang out with your buddies, give the kids a deck of cards to play Go Fish or Old Maid. Have a home brew of beer or root beer and bake up some homeade pretzels to make it special (or not).

December 30th is National Bicarbonate of Soda Day. I guess it’s because after all that food, you’ll need some fizzy drink to help with the indigestion. Your guess is as good as mine.

Whatever you do, you better decide by December 31st because it’s Make Up Your Mind Day and if you don’t, beware, because it’s also Unlucky Day.

After all these Holidays you’ll need some rest, so make sure you take some time out on January 3rd, Festival of Sleep Day.

Whichever Holidays you choose to enjoy make them safe and happy ones!
