The holidays are finally upon us. To mark the change of season LiveWire will be hosting a veteran guest Sister Janet Green of Sacramento’s Loaves and Fishes. Every year this organization takes on a tremendous challenge, making a Thanksgiving dinner large enough to feed thousands. As you can imagine this covers everything from hundreds of hams, countless collard greens, and of course tons of turkeys.
A rough economy has taken its toll on the friends of Loaves and Fishes, but the ranks of individuals seeking help continues to grow exponentially. Sister Janet is going to tell us how John and Jane Public can get involved even if it’s something as small as donating a can of cranberry sauce. Or if any of us have some extra time on our hands on November 22nd, how to roll up our sleeves, put on an apron and help out.
Tune in on November 16 at 5pm to LiveWire on Access Sacramento channel 17 to find out all the information you need. To watch the simulcast online go to www.AccessSacramento.org and click ‘watch 17’.
However, if you can’t wait that long and want to get an early start on donating go to their site at http://sacloaves.org/holiday/thanksgiving or give them a call at: 916-446-0874
