The October 8th ACM West Conference in San Jose was a great event and well attended by more than 150 folks. During the luncheon, Regional Chair J Robertson announced that the October 2012 two-day event would be hosted by Access Sacramento and Davis Media Access.

“We are very excited to help organize next year,” Executive Director Ron Cooper proclaimed. “It has been quite a few years since we hosted this great event and the WAVE ceremony. It will provide a wonderful opportunity to invite local leaders from the government access and educational access communities to help with the planning and hosting.”

Autumn Labbe-Renault, E.D. at Davis Media Access sees the conference as an opportunity to showcase PEG Access TV and Radio. She said, “In addition to showcasing our television channels, we want attendees to meet our KDRT Davis radio programmers. Local community radio is growing online and with new low power FM frequencies now available, we expect the region’s radio voice to be stronger than ever.”

Cooper added, “We have many great examples of PE and G programming here in Sacramento County, Davis and the foothills. The conference will invite hundreds of attendees, help the local economy, and showcase our services. But we will needs lots of help in organizing the event.” Stay tuned for more details and a “call to action” as the event draws near.
