Mark Twain, in the person of McAvoy Layne of Incline Village, entertained a large audience at the Central Library Thursday September 29. The Access Sacramento Hometown-TV crew was there to capture all the speakers including

Mark Twain scholar Robert Hirst of UC Berkeley, the editor-in-charge of “The Autobiography of Mark Twain.” The event is co-sponsored by Sacramento Bee Book Club, Access Sacramento, and the Sacramento Public Library’s The Big Read/One Book Sacramento.

35 prominent local leaders came to the studios of Access Sacramento over the past two months and were recorded in our our “Green Studio” each reading a chapter. A new chapter will be posted to the SacBee.org web site each day in the month of October encouraging families to read the book aloud. The kick-off event will been shown on channel 17 Sunday October 16 at 5:00 PM.

Special thanks go to E.J. Harrison, Richard Langley, Carlos V. Hernandez, and Dev Singh for their video production efforts.
