Everyday Democracy encourages communities to confront institutional racism and apply innovation and creativity to the formidable task of changing attitudes. To this end, the organization sent a flip camera to film the South Sacramento Community Media Forum. Charlene Jones, Sacramento Media Group, did a terrific job documenting interviews and creating a montage of images and comments from the local attendees. Highpoints Consulting, co-sponsors of the event with CARE (Committee Addressing Racial Equity), the Sacramento Media Group and Access Sacramento, forwarded all the short videos to Everyday Democracy, and they edited it and added some ideas from the CARE final report. EvDem also will send this to the Kellogg Foundation as part of their final report for CCRE (Communities Creating Racial Equity) funding.
